I was made redundant during the Covid lockdown of 2020 without any consultation. I subsequently raised a personal grievance with the employer. I then approached Kam Bailey from WorkLaw who agreed to act as my advocate. Eventually the case went to MBIE facilitated mediation which was not successful, so application was made to the ERA who issued a favourable determination in May 2022. This was challenged by the employer who then took the matter to the employment court. Under Kam’s guidance we opted for a Judicial settlement conference at which a settlement was reached. This whole process took over two years and during this whole time Kam has worked tirelessly advocating for me and assisting with the avalanche of legal documentation required. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kam as an advocate who goes above and beyond for her clients in seeking fairness and justice.
