Bankruptcy advice
In these difficult times people can be left unable to pay their bills, through no fault of their own. In some cases the best option is to work with creditors to obtain a repayment plan. In other cases bankruptcy (or a no asset procedure) is the best option as it offers the advantage of starting again without debt, it stops creditors from harrassing you and it allows you to refocus your financial energy on your family and their future, rather than on the past. Bankruptcy is not an easy option even though for some people it is the best option. Before you take the big step of seeking bankruptcy (or deciding to battle on with repaying creditors) please consider coming to talk to us (or contacting us by email) to make sure that you are making the right decision. We will be able to assess your situation compassionately and in your best interests. If it appears best for you to come to an arrangement with your creditors we can assist you directly or provide you with the necessary contacts who can help (often at no ongoing cost). We can also advise you on the steps that you can legally take to minimise the impact of a bankruptcy or debt arrangement on you and your family. We strongly recommend that you approach us for advice before making any large debt payment or refinancing decisions.
Our initial meeting cost is $150 ($130 if held by email) and we believe that you will find this very good value. Any ongoing costs are also reasonable.
